Bugsy Malone

At Stagewise, as well as our popular weekly workshops we offer additional advanced musical theatre training in our weekly ‘Performers’ workshops. Earlier this year, we were delighted that both our Performers groups were awarded Distinctions by Trinity Guildhall for their exam performances.

These dynamic, high energy, intensive workshops are structured to challenge and develop individual skill whilst working together as a company. We recommend these workshops for students who demonstrate a high level of focus, talent, dedication and are considering a career in the performing arts. Entry to these workshops is by audition only.

Performers is split according to age: Performers Stage ONE is for students aged between 7 and 14 years. Performers Stage TWO is for students aged between 15 and 20 years.

WORKING TOWARDS…
Both groups will spend the Autumn term preparing for featured content for our Winter show, “Now That’s What I Call Stagewise.” This is another fantastic opportunity for our Performers students to showcase their talent in front of a live audience.

In the new year, students will begin preparations and rehearsals for their Trinity Guildhall Musical Theatre exams. Performers Stage One will work on a selection from the smash hit musical “Bugsy Malone”.

WEEKLY WORKSHOP VENUE
From September 2016 ALL Performers workshops will be held on a Thursday evening at our Wimborne venue (Community Learning & Resource Centre). This move for PS1 from Tuesdays to Thursdays will enable all Performers students to be in the same place at the same time. It enables us to focus Thursday evenings specifically towards these students and allows us the freedom to work collectively when required.

AUDITIONS
Auditions for PS1 will take place in September. Date/time and venue to be confirmed.

PS1 Girls Learn either “My Name is Talulah” or “Ordinary Fool” from Bugsy Malone
PS1 Boys Learn either “Tomorrow” or “Bad Guys” from Bugsy Malone

All students who attend the auditions will take part in a group dance audition followed by group singing auditions - please prepare the first verse and chorus of chosen song. Backing tracks will be provided for PS1 students. Students should wear Stagewise uniform tops accompanied by black bottoms and footwear suitable for dance. Please bring a drink with you.

FEES
Fees for PS1 workshops are £90.00 per term.
Fees are payable for Autumn, Spring and Summer term.
Exam entry costs and costume costs for the exam are included in term fees so there are no additional costs.
